I could say this is where it all began, I bought this rule in about 1976, I was touring the junk shops of Worthing on my bike on a Saturday and bought this for a few pence. It is a Thomas Bradburn 2′ four fold arch joint rule, it is one of the first items I ‘collected’. Inventory No.0078AG

Early 36" square section four fold rule
Early 36″ square section four fold rule, I thought this was a dipping rod but looking at it more closely there are no marking except inches, on closer inspection I found a date faintly inscribed on the hinge of 1679, I have had this for nearly 40 years and had not noticed this!
